Offensive Player of the Week: QB Brian Jones, Arkansas Diamonds
The Arkansas Diamonds and Amarillo Venom met twice during the IFL regular season. They each came away with a victory. Now with the bright lights of a bigger stage being shined upon them, the question would be who could come out on top? The Diamonds ended up shinning brightest in a spectacular grid-iron match-up against Amarillo by a 46-31 finish. The Diamonds brilliance on offense was led by QB Brian Jones. The Arkansas quarterback went 15 for 27 on his passing attempts, good for 246 yards and five touchdowns. The scoring power didn't stop there. Jones also proved to be apt on his ground game. Scrambling for 42 yards on ten rushes, the mobile QB came away with a rushing touchdown to aid in his teams' victory. With the Conference Finals looming, Jones and the Diamonds will need to stay sharp as they head into Billings to battle the Outlaws.
Defensive Player of the Week: DL Brandon Russell, Wichita Wild
The Wichita Wild have enjoyed there home stretch in the playoffs. Looking to continue to satisfy their fans, the Wild needed someone to step up and come up big against another hot team in the Rochester Raiders. Defensive lineman Brandon Russell made all the right plays in the 45-33 Wichita win. The DL came up with three tackles and three sacks to terrorize the Raiders offense. The Wild will need another defensive onslaught to knock off the Storm in Sioux Falls for the Conference Championship game.
Special Teams Player of the Week: KR Tim Brown, Billings Outlaws
The question of "What Can Brown Do For You?" has been a popular pop-culture slogan over the past year and the Billings Outlaws might have found the answer, everything.
