TONIGHT

The Bakersfield Condors conclude an eight-game home stand against San Jose. It is the third meeting of 12 on the season between the two sides with the Condors splitting a series in San Jose back in October. All-time the Condors are 8-4-1-1 against San Jose and have a 3-2-0-1 record on home ice. Last season, San Jose edged Bakersfield by two points for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Pacific Division.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Bakersfield dropped their second straight on Saturday, 2-0, to the Stockton Heat. The Condors outshot the Heat 30-28 in the game, but could not find a way past G David Rittich. G Laurent Brossoit made his third consecutive start and stopped 26 of 28 in the loss.

San Jose was also shutout last Saturday, 4-0, in San Diego as the Gulls completed the sweep on the weekend. Troy Grosenick got the start both games and helped the team to a point on Friday in an overtime loss to the Gulls by turning aside 34 of 36 shots.

PENALTY KILLING

The Condors have killed off 21 straight penalty kills and have not allowed a power play goal over the last six games. Dating back to Oct. 29 in San Jose, the team has killed off 31 of 32 man advantages. Bakersfield sits 4th in the AHL with an 88.0% kill rate. The number is even better on home ice as the Condors have killed 26 of 28 power plays, good for a 92.9%.

GETTING THE JUMP

Bakersfield is 4-0 when leading after the first period. However, when tied or trailing after one period, the Condors have just one win in eight opportunities.
