Comets Waive Jocelyn Penn

HOUSTON – The Houston Comets announced today that the team has waived forward Jocelyn Penn.

Penn (6-0, South Carolina ‘03), who signed with the Comets on March 14, holds career averages of 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in 31 WNBA games with the Washington Mystics (30) and San Antonio Silver Stars (1). Drafted by the Charlotte Sting in the first round (9th overall) of the 2003 WNBA Draft, Penn joined the Mystics on June 9, 2003, after being waived by the Sting on May 21. She played in 30 games with Washington as a rookie, averaging 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds. On May 19, 2004, Penn was released by the Mystics but later signed with the Silver Stars on August 12. After missing seven games while on the injured list with right shoulder tendonitis/bursitis, Penn played in her first game with San Antonio, recording four points and one rebound in three minutes of action vs. Charlotte on September 17.
