
Comets Waive Clinesmith and McCain

HOUSTON - The Houston Comets announced today that the team has waived guards Stacy Clinesmith and Brandi McCain.
Clinesmith (5-5, UC-Santa Barbara '00) averaged 1.9 points and 1.5 assists in three WNBA seasons with the Sacramento Monarchs and Detroit Shock. She was originally selected by Sacramento in the second round (30th overall) of the 2000 WNBA Draft. Clinesmith was traded by the Monarchs to the Shock for a 2003 fourth-round pick on May 10, 2002. She was waived by Detroit on May 23, 2003. Clinesmith signed as a free agent with the Seattle Storm on April 26, 2004, but was released during training camp.
McCain (5-3, Florida '02) played in 31 games for the Cleveland Rockers in 2002, averaging 2.7 points and 1.3 assists. She was selected by Cleveland in the second round (24th overall) of the 2002 WNBA Draft. McCain was most recently in training camp with the Los Angeles Sparks.
