Comets Sea of Red, White & Blue Set for Send-Off Game on July 31 vs. Indiana

HOUSTON – The Houston Comets will host the team's "Send-Off Game" to Athens at 3 p.m. (CDT) on Saturday, July 31 vs. the Indiana Fever at Toyota Center. The game will also be televised nationally on ABC. Fans are encouraged to wear their colors of support for Women's USA Basketball Head Coach Van Chancellor, as well as USA forwards Sheryl Swoopes and Tina Thompson according to the following breakdown:

Red............................ All Floor Seats and Rows Lettered A-M

Red............................ Rows 1-8 (All Sections)

White.......................... Rows 9-17 (All Sections)

Blue............................ Rows 18-and-Up (All Sections)

Comets fans will not want to miss the team's final contest before the Summer Games in Athens. Tickets are available at Toyota Center Box Office or at most area Randalls locations. Coach Chancellor, Swoopes and Thompson along with the rest of the 2004 USA Basketball Women's Senior National Team will then head to New York City to square off against an All-Star Team of WNBA players on August 5 at the historic Radio City Music Hall. The match-up, dubbed "WNBA vs. USA Basketball: The Game at Radio City," will serve as the domestic send-off for the U.S. National Team as it continues its preparations for Athens. ESPN will televise the game nationally, on Thursday, August 5 at 6 p.m. (CDT). The 2004 Summer Games in Athens, Greece will be held August 13-29.
