
Comets Receive Post Season Honors

INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI - Major Indoor Soccer League scoring champion Geison was named All-MISL First Team and a finalist for league MVP this week. Geison, a midfielder, heads a list of four Comets players who were honored. Danny Waltman is on the All-MISL Second Team and is a finalist for Goalkeeper of the Year.
Joining Waltman on the All-MISL Second Team is defender Leo Gibson and last season's MISL MVP Byron Alvarez. Gibson is also a finalist for MISL Defender of the Year.
Coach Kim Roentved is one of three finalists for MISL Coach of the Year after leading the Comets to a 15-9 regular season and appearance in the Central Division Finals.
The All-Rookie team was also announced this week by the MISL. The All-MISL and All-Rookie teams are selected through a vote by MISL team management and select media members.
Baltimore and Milwaukee will face off in the best-of-three 2012 MISL Championship Series starting this Friday night at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore (6:35 p.m. CDT, MISLLive.com), with the second leg set for 3:10 p.m. CDT Sunday at U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee (MISLLive.com). A deciding mini-game will be played immediately following Game 2 if needed.
