Comets Have Two Players Honored

Kansas City Comets News Release

INDEPENDENCE, MO - The Major Indoor Soccer League announced their Team of the Week awards today, including Comets' stars, forward Byron Alvarez and defender Brian Harris. Two other players, midfielder John Sosa & forward Stefan St. Louis, were named Honorable Mention.

Byron Alvarez had his second straight four-goal effort this past weekend. His nine-point game brought him within two points of the league leading Doug Miller of Rochester. Since being named Forward of the Month for November, Alvarez has not let his foot off the gas. He has earned at least a point in every game but one, averaged nearly two goals per game and scored the game winning goal in each of the last two games.

In 2010 Brian Harris worked his way from Open Tryouts to being, arguably, one of the top defenders in the MISL. He has shown a new side to his game this season as has gotten more involved in the offense as well. Sunday afternoon he scored two goals, including a 3 point shot two minutes into game. Harris' goal started the Comets scoring outburst that would culminate in a season-high 24 point scored.

Both players will be in action again this Thursday night against the defending MISL Champion Milwaukee Wave at 7:35pm. Fans can purchase tickets for only $8.10 by calling 855.KC.ARENA, courtesy of SportsRadio 810 WHB.
