Comcast-Spectacor Decides This Will Be The Last Year Of The Spectrum

July 15, 2008 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
Philadelphia KiXX News Release

Note from Jeffrey Rotwitt, Philadelphia KiXX President: The Spectrum has been our home for 12-years and we are disappointed to see it go, but I understand and fully support Comcast-Spectacor's decision. Ed Snider, Peter Luukko, John Page, Tim Murphy and their entire staff at Comcast-Spectacor have been good business partners and we wish them success in their exciting future plans.

We have terrific fans, loyal and valued sponsors and have been fortunate to raise two championship banners at the Spectrum. We will cherish our memories and tenure here. We're excited about our farewell Spectrum celebration coming this fall and hope to raise our third championship banner.

The KiXX is a strong franchise, and we will be playing next year in a newly founded League. We are in the midst of advanced discussions and will make an announcement in the coming month that will continue professional indoor soccer in Philadelphia.

Following our farewell season at the Spectrum, we will be playing the 2009-2010 season in a new home that we fully expect to bring the same level of excitement and success we've enjoyed at the Spectrum. The announcement of the new venue will be made by Labor Day.

In the meantime, our KiXX Kamps are on pace for a record summer with over 2,500 youth players participating at 45 different locations throughout the Delaware Valley. Visit KiXXonline.com for League and farewell Spectrum celebration news and updates.
