Columbus, Huntsville Complete Swap

December 23, 2002 - NBA G League (G League) News Release

GREENVILLE, S.C. (December 23, 2002) - The Columbus Riverdragons and the Huntsville Flight have completed the first trade of the 2002-03 National Basketball Development League season, according to an announcement today by league Executive Director Karl Hicks. The Riverdragons sent forward Jermaine Walker to the Flight in exchange for forward Greg Stempin.

Walker, who played collegiately at the University of Miami, averaged 9.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in 13 games for the Riverdragons. Stempin averaged 3.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in nine games for the Flight. Both had been playing in backup roles for their respective teams.

Ironically Stempin, who will be wearing his third NBDL uniform, scored am inaugural-season record 36 points against the Riverdragons on March 22 of last season. Current Fayetteville guard Devin Brown, who scored 38 points against North Charleston earlier this month, has since broken that record.

Huntsville and Columbus wrap up the NBDL pre-Christmas schedule with a 2 p.m. game Tuesday at the Columbus Civic Center.
