Columbus Blue Jackets Development Camp Gets Underway

Syracuse, NY (June 29, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced that the Columbus Blue Jackets' development camp gets underway today, June 29 and will run through Friday, July 3 at the Dispatch Ice Haus in Columbus, Ohio.

On-ice workouts, which are open to the public, will be held from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. today and from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. All on-ice times are subject to change. Conducting the on-ice elements of the camp will be Blue Jackets Head Coach Ken Hitchcock, Assistant Coach Claude Noel and Development Coach Tyler Wright.

Among the 34 players scheduled to participate are 18 players who have been selected by Columbus in the NHL Draft, including five players who were selected in the 2009 Entry Draft (D John Moore - first round, C Kevin Lynch - second round, D David Savard - fourth round, D Thomas Larkin - fifth round, RW Kyle Neuber - seventh round).

The players attending the camp by draft class are: 2008 - D Cody Goloubef, D Steven Delisle, D Drew Olson, LW Matt Calvert, C/RW Tomas Kubalik, D Brent Regner, RW Cam Atkinson, LW Sean Collins 2007 - LW/RW Jake Hansen, RW Stefan Legein, RW Trent Vogelhuber, G Allen York; 2006 - LW Nick Sucharski; Players Acquired Via Trade - G Kevin Lalande, D Theo Ruth; Free Agent Signees; Forwards Darren Archibald, Josh Boyd, Matt Caria, Kelly Geoffrey, Kevin Harvey, Chris Higgins, Tayler Jordan, Brock McBride, Tim Miller and defensemen Lee Baldwin, Maury Edwards, Tim Filangieri, Spencer McAvoy and Kevin Roeder.

Filangieri, Harvey, Lalande, Legein and Miller all saw action with the Crunch last season.
