Colorado Lightning Beats the Detroit Waza 10-2

(Loveland, CO) - Colorado Lightning defeated the Detroit Waza on Sunday, November 16, 2008. The Lightning showed a great amount of defensive heart in tonight's game and held the Waza until the fourth quarter where they scored their only 2 goals. The Lightning scored 10 goals against the Waza and took twice as many shots on goal than they allowed. The team had a few new players this game including Josh Elbaum who scored a goal in the third quarter.

Rafael Amaya, the Lightning Head Coach, said, "They were more cohesive as a unit and we look forward to building on the win they had tonight." The team had more fun knocking it around with one another this game and it showed in their enthusiasm and their energy throughout the fourth quarter.

Before the game, the Lightning's Reserve team, Fort Collins Fury, played the Inter Football Association of Longmont. The Fury won the game 4-2 against the Longmont Team.

The Lightning played a fantastic game against the Detroit Waza tonight and are very proud of their performance. They are looking forward to their next home game on Sunday, November 30 and to their fan base who will return to watch the game.

The top-tier of the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) has four divisions: Western US, Eastern US, Canada, and Mexico. The Western Division includes the following teams: Stockton Cougars, CA., Wenatchee Fire, WA., Denver Dynamite, and Colorado Lightning. The Lightning play 16 regular season games in total, eight at home at the Budweiser Events Center. Team in the PASL he PASL will play six vs. six, including goalkeepers, on an indoor field 85 feet wide by 200 feet long during four 15 minute quarters (sudden death, if needed).
