Colonel Claw'd Refs a Game; Mascots Go to Camp

Wednesday, August 10th Colonel Claw'd will brush up on his officiating skills as referee of a "noodle hockey" game. The Colonel will head north of the river to Centennial Elementary and take part in the activities scheduled for the last week of summer school. The foam puck is set to drop at 9 am in the multi-purpose room. Centennial Elementary is located at 15200 Westdale.

Thursday, August 11th - Sunday, August 14th Going away to camp is a popular summer- time activity for kids of all ages, and that's just as true for Condors mascots Colonel Claw'd and Baby Cal. The duo will be attending mascot camp in Denver, Colorado, later this week. The feathered pair is looking forward to learning new and exciting ways to get the crowd involved at Condors games and seal the home-ice advantage for their favorite team. The camp is being put on by the same company that created BSE's other energetic character, Crusher.

Week in Review:

Sunday, August 7th Bakersfield Sports Entertainment and Colonel Claw'd participated in the 5th Annual Kern County Kids Day. More than 4,000 people strolled the grounds of Kern County Museum as part of a national campaign to establish the first Sunday in August as National Kids Day. Condors Slapshot was one of sixty booths set up for family entertainment. Brian Mendiburu and the staff of The Boys & Girls Club are already meeting to plan next year's event.

Just for Kids: The Bakersfield Condors are offering a special pre- season rate for 2005-2006 Condors Kids Club membership. From now till September 1st, Condors fans age 12 and under can join the coolest club around for only $15! Membership runs from September 1, 2005 to May 31, 2006 and includes tickets to six weekend games and an exclusive gift. Special activities allow for one of a kind opportunities to meet Condors players, coaches and mascots Colonel Claw'd and Baby Cal.
