Port Huron Flags News Release

PORT HURON, MICH. - While many of the Flags' roster additions have been of Canadian descent, Head Coach Stan Drulia has recently signed two Michigan players for the upcoming season.

Forward Ryan Lessnau, of Southfield, has played the last four years with Bentley College, in Waltham, Mass. Bentley hockey is a division one member of the Northeast 10 conference and in Lessnau's senior year, the team made its first appearance in the Atlantic Hockey Final Four.

In his college career, Lessnau played 110 games and recorded 65 points between goals and assists. At 5-feet-8, 190 pounds, Drulia refers to Lessnau as, "a hard-nosed kid. He comes highly recommended because of his ability to compete every night, and his willingness to battle. He is a pit bull and plays with passion."

Goaltender Noah Ruden hails from Bloomfield Hills, and spent three years in the United States Hockey League before playing as a Michigan Wolverine from 2002-06. The 5-fee-11, 165 pound goalie recorded 656 saves in 33 games.

"Noah had a solid senior season in Michigan," said Drulia, who signed Goalie Dustin Traylen a few weeks earlier. "He will create a nice, competitive balance in the goal for us. At this level, you need two goalies that can seal games during the season. We feel very fortunate to have both Traylen and Ruden signed and ready to go."

Upcoming Season: With the start of training camp six weeks away, the Flags have now signed 18 players and have tryouts pending with two more. Check out the Flags website for information on the players. Season tickets are still available through the front office.

TV Cameo: Earlier in the week, Drulia and Flags President Mark Neal recorded a segment with Port Huron's local school television station, channel six. Look for their appearance in the upcoming weeks.

The Port Huron Flags are a community owned, nonprofit member club of the United Hockey League. For more information on the 2006-07 season, contact the front office at (810) 982-3524 or visit the website at www.porthuronflags.net.
