
Cobras Host Annual Fang Fest on January 24

CHARLOTTE â The Carolina Cobras of the Arena Football League will host their second annual Fang Fest on Saturday, January 24 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Charlotte Coliseum. The event is free and open to the general public and will allow fans to get an up-close and personal look at the 2004 Cobras.
The official unveiling of the Cobras new, redesigned uniforms will highlight the day's festivities, which will also include the introduction of the 2004 roster and coaching staff. Fox 18 Sports Director Ari Bergeron will be on hand to emcee the day's events.
Fang Fest will begin with an open team practice, followed by an autograph session with the entire Cobras squad. Players will later take the field to toss passes and kick field goals with all fans in attendance. The Cobras will also offer locker room tours and AFL 101 classes with Cobras Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator John Gregory during the event.
To cap off the day's events, the Cobras official dance team, the Snake Charmers, and mascot, King Cobra, will be on hand to entertain, and fans will be treated with the interactive QB Challenge and a Book Fair, held by Borders Bookstore.
Prospective season ticket holders will have the ability to select their seat locations for the 2004 season throughout the afternoon, and single-game, group and mini-plan tickets will also be available for purchase at the Charlotte Coliseum box office. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase official Carolina Cobras apparel.
Widely-recognized as the most fan-friendly professional league in sports, the AFL opens its 18th season of play this February. In their second season in Charlotte, and fifth season overall, the Cobras will welcome over 30 new players and a revamped coaching staff for the 2004 season.
The Cobras kick off the 2004 season on Sunday, February 8 on the road against the Dallas Desperados. Carolina will open its home schedule on Saturday, February 21 versus the Arizona Rattlers.
