Carolina Cobras News Release

CHARLOTTE The Carolina Cobras of the Arena Football League today announced the hiring of Dean DeMarais as their new director of media and community relations and Kevin Ziman, Keira Durrette and Josh Dernosek as ticket account executives.

DeMarais has spent the past three years working in the public relations departments of several professional teams in Grand Rapids, Michigan, including stints with the AFL's Rampage, the Griffins of the American Hockey League and Hoops of the Continental Basketball Association. Most recently, he served as interim public relations manager for the Rampage.

The addition of DeMarais, a graduate of Grand Valley State University, is another step in the Cobras' continuing efforts to make an impact in the Charlotte community. During the 2002-03 CBA season, he organized and executed several highly-successful community relations initiatives with the Hoops. DeMarais will also be responsible for the team's day-to-day media services, including compiling game notes, scheduling player interviews with local and national media and maintaining statistical upkeep of player performances.

As the Cobras continue season ticket renewals and look to have a larger presence in the Charlotte area, they have also expanded their ticket-selling staff, adding three ticket account executives to their sales department. The new staff members will focus on renewals, new season ticket sales and group sales.

Ziman joins the Cobras staff after selling for the NBA Charlotte Hornets and WNBA Charlotte Sting for two seasons. Durrette moves to Charlotte from the Washington, D.C. area, where she previously worked for Visit Charlotte in their satellite sales office. Dernosek is a recent graduate of Appalachian State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in public relations along with a minor in marketing.

The Cobras will begin their fifth season in the Arena Football League when the 2004 campaign kicks off the weekend of February 6-8. Season tickets are on sale now and start as low as $64 per seat. For more information, call 877-4-COBRAS or visit www.cobrasfootball.com.
