Coach T Speaks To Valley Basketball Coaches Association

RGV Silverados Head Coach Steve Tucker addressed the Valley Basketball Coaches Association on Wednesday night at their annual meeting that was held at Weslaco East High School.

Coach T spoke on how high school basketball has improved in the State of Texas since his days at Sam Houston State University in the 1980s. He complimented the Girls and Boys High School Coaches for the efforts they make in teaching the game and encouraged them to keep up the outstanding work they do. Coach Tucker also made the coaches aware that the Silverados want to be involved in the game in the Valley on all levels and are willing to help their programs in the future.

"To see how the game has evolved in Texas at the high school level especially is refreshing! I can assure you from my past experiences within the Game of Basketball in the State of Texas that it has not always been that way. Many coaches at all levels over the years have worked throughout the state for make the game better for all involved! I'm just really happy to see that." stated the Silverados Head Coach.

The coaches in attendance gave Tucker a rousing round of applause at the conclusion of his talk and other speakers on the meetings schedule like University of Texas - Pan American Women's and Men's Head Basketball Coaches DeAnn Craft and Tom Schuberth reiterated Coach T's comments to the Basketball Coaches Association.

Valley Basketball Coaches Association President and McAllen High School Boy's Basketball Coach Roy Swift was excited to have Coach Steve Tucker address the Basketball Coaches Association members in attendance. "Having Coach T come out to speak to the coaches was very good. He is extremely passionate about the game and it shows. I've worked with Coach Tucker this Summer at the Silverados Kid's Camps and at their Free-Agent Camp, and it is really special to watch the man work. He's a real teacher of the game. All of our coaches in the Basketball Coaches Association want to see the game grow here in the Valley and throughout the State. We are doing many things to make that happen now and into the future. The development of professional basketball in the Valley is a real asset to what we are already doing, so we truly welcome the Silverados to the Valley!"
