The Tupelo FireAnts lost to the Winston-Salem Energy, 38-35, Saturday night at the BancorpSouth Center.
In a close game that was decided in the in the final minutes of play, the 'Ants were unable to muster out a win.
Scoring for Tupelo included RB Chris Rainey, WR Mario Gray, and WR Kevin Cooper with three touchdowns on the night.
'Ants QB's Damon Smith and Todd Jordan each threw for two touchdowns. Smith completed 6 of 12 passes for 117 yards while Jordan was 4 of 9 for 70 yards.
Tupelo finishes the 2002 NIFL regular season with a 4-10 record.
