
Cleaver Inks with Hurricanes

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Tuesday the signing of 2007-born goaltender Koen Cleaver to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
Cleaver, 15, was selected by the Hurricanes in the third round (48th overall) in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. The Port Alberni, BC product spent the 2021-2022 season with the Pacific Coast Academy U15 Prep club appearing in 15 games posting a 9-2-2 record with a 2.85 goals against average (GAA) and a .910 save percentage (SV%) with two shutouts. He finished the season posting a 5-0-1 record in his final six starts.
The 6'2, 185-pound netminder added a 2.98 GAA and a .920 SV% in two post-season games posting a 1-0-0 record in the playoffs. He was the first goaltender selected in the 2022 draft. Cleaver joins defenseman Will Sharpe out of the 2022 draft group to sign with the Hurricanes.
