Toledo, OH - Defenseman Kevin Clare has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2014-15 season.

Clare scored three times with 15 assists last year with the Walleye, his first professional season. He also had 31 penalty minutes and was a plus 8. The 23-year-old defenseman also appeared in six games during Toledo's playoff run.

"Kevin grew last year immensely and was a big part of our success," Head Coach Derek Lalonde said. "He's another player with a team-first mentality and we are excited to have him back."

The native of New Rochelle, New York posted three goals, 21 assists and was a plus 13 over four years at the University of Michigan. He had a career-high 10 assists in 2013-14 and blocked a team-best 81 shots. The 6'1", 195-pound defenseman was part of Michigan's CCHA regular season championship team in 2010-11 and helped that team reach the Frozen Four as a freshman. Prior to his college hockey, the 22-year-old played for the US National Under 18 and Under 17 teams, gaining 116 total games with 10 goals and 17 assists.

The 2015-16 home opener is Saturday, November 7 against Adirondack-- the first and only time those two teams play each other in 2015-16. Game Plan and single-game ticket packages are on sale now. For more information call 419-725-WALL or visit www.toledowalleye.com.
