City Islanders, Subway's "Jared" To Appear On May 25

(Harrisburg, Pa., May 19, 2005) â Harrisburg City Islanders Head Coach Bill Becher and Team Captain Derek Potteiger will join Jared Fogle, the popular SUBWAY spokesperson who credits a diet of submarine sandwiches with helping him lose over 200 pounds, next Wednesday, May 25, at West Hanover Elementary School (7740 Manor Drive, Harrisburg) from 1:30 â 2:15 p.m.
Becher, Potteiger, and Fogle will speak to West Hanover students Grades 3 â 5 about the importance of diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Wednesday's appearance is part of SUBWAY's F.R.E.S.H. Steps Campaign. F.R.E.S.H. stands for "Feel Responsible Energized Satisfied and Happy," and was created by SUBWAY restaurants to empower kids and adults to seek out healthy choices in their menus and in their overall lifestyle.
The City Islanders emphasize the importance of a healthy lifestyle and a quality education in the numerous public appearances performed by the club throughout the year.
The Harrisburg City Islanders are in their second season of play in the nine-team USL Second Division. The City Islanders' 20-game (10 home, 10 away) regular season schedule kicked off on April 16 and will run through August 13, with home games played at scenic Skyline Sports Complex on City Island in Harrisburg, Pa.
