Dayton Demonz News Release
Peter Cintala's goal just :40 into overtime sealed up the fourth straight victory over the Danville Dashers for the Dayton Demonz.
The Demonz got out to an early lead behind a rocket of a wrist shot off of the stick of Jesse Felten at the eight minute mark. Shortly after the Dashers evened the score at one on a nifty give and go between Justin Levac and Dustin Skinner. The Dashers would take a 2-1 lead in to the second period after Ryan Stern tallied on the power play with just over four minutes remaining.
The Dashers extended their lead to 4-1 behind goals from Ryan Huggett and another from Levac. With 10:50 left on the clock, the Demonz Jason Hill made it 4-2 on a power play goal that was assisted by Trevor Karasawiecz - his 100th point of the season. The Dashers went back up by three goals when Chris Affinati banged home a pass from David Lun. And from then on it seemed like it was all Dayton. Cintala and Felten scored to head in to the third period down 5-4.
Felten completed his hat trick to tie the game at five just six minutes in to the third period before Karasawiecz and Ahmed Mahfouz would give Dayton a 7-5 lead. The Dashers stormed back in the final minute scoring twice in the last 36 seconds to send the game to OT before Cintala's game winner.
