Cincinnati Kings Sign Four Players

CINCINNATI (April 5, 2006) - The Cincinnati Kings have announced four more player signings to the 2006 roster including three players who were with the Kings in 2005. Moussa Dagnogo, Travis Sobers, and Tiest Sondaal will be back for the upcoming season and new to the team is Jordan James.

"These four guys will be instrumental to our success in 2006," said Kings Head Coach Jon Pickup. "They represent a good blend of youth and experience but they all have the skills and talent to help us reach the next level."

Dagnogo, 34, joined the Kings in the middle of last season scoring three goals in six games. A forward from Paris, France, Dagnogo has played first division soccer in Scotland and second division in England, France, and Portugal.

Sobers, 26, played forward for the Kings in 2005 scoring four goals with two assists in only 686 minutes. Sobers played his collegiate soccer at Wright State after playing on the junior national team for his native country, Trinidad & Tobago.

Sondaal, 25, was named to the USL Second Division Second Team in 2005. Playing defense for the Kings, the native of Holland started 18 games and tallied three assists. Sondaal has previously played for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL Second Division.

James, 23, played goalkeeper last year for the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Second Division. In 10 games with the Hammerheads, James posted seven wins allowing only nine goals for a .900 goals against average. A native of Liverpool, New York, James will compete for the starting goalkeeper spot.

The Kings have now signed 14 players to the 2006 roster. Returning from last year are Josh Barton, Jon Caldwell, Jack Cummings, Dagnogo, Sam Fiore, Jeff Hughes, Bret Jones, John Liersemann, Kevin McCloskey, Wes Schulte, Derek Smith, Sobers, and Sondaal. James is the lone newcomer right now.

The Cincinnati Kings will begin their 2006 season in the USL Second Division at the Charlotte Eagles on April 21. The Kings play their first home match May 5 against the Western Mass Pioneers. All homes games will be played at the Xavier University Soccer Complex.
