CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Kings won their first of two home weekend games in a two-hour rain delayed game against the Long Island Rough Riders, 4-1, at Xavier University Soccer Complex. The season-high score win brings the Kings' record to 6-5-3 in the United Soccer Leagues' Second Division, and puts the Kings in fourth place tie with Harrisburg and Pittsburgh.

The Kings play at home against the Harrisburg City Islanders on Sunday, July 23, 5 p.m., and need the win to maintain their spot for the playoffs. The match will be webcast from the Kings web site at www.cincinnatikings.com.

"We were able to dominate the ball tonight and executed well on offense," said Coach Jon Pickup. "It was a great team effort and we look forward to taking this positive energy into Sunday's important match against Harrisburg."

The Rough Riders' Anthony Barberio scored first with their only goal in the first minute of the match with a free kick. Scoring for the Kings was Trey Alexander in the eighth minute, a header by Derek Smith in the 29th minute off a corner kick; John Krause in the 61st minute; and the last goal of the game came from Jon Caldwell, his first of the season.

Kings goalkeeper Jordan James had four saves on goal while the Rough Riders had five saves.

Following Sunday's game, the Kings begin a three-match road trip over the next two weeks.
