
Cincinnati Kings end regular season with road loss

LUDLOW, MA--The Cincinnati Kings ended their regular season on a down note as the Kings lose on the road to the Western Mass Pioneers, 1-0, Sunday night in United Soccer Leagues Second Division action.
The Kings were playing for playoff position, having backed into the post-season despite losing at home to Pittsburgh Saturday night, 2-0. The Kings qualified for the playoffs through Richmond's win Saturday night over New Hampshire. With the loss, the Kings finish the regular season in fourth place in the division and will face Richmond in two playoff games next weekend.
The game was tied until the 80th minute, when Everson Maciel broke the scoreless tie with the only goal of the game, with an assist from Tony Fernandes. The Kings had seven shots on goal for the game, the Pioneers 10. The Kings recorded three saves, while Western Mass had two.
The Kings finish the regular season 9-8-3. The Kings next play on the road Friday night in their opening playoff game at Richmond, then will come home to face Richmond again Sunday night at the Xavier University Soccer Complex.
