
Cincinnati Kings Announce 2006 Schedule

CINCINNATI (December 15, 2005) - The Cincinnati Kings will start their second season on the road against the Charlotte Eagles on April 21. The first home match for the Kings will be May 5 versus the Western Mass Pioneers at Xavier University at 7:00 p.m.
The Kings will play a 20-game regular-season schedule with 10 matches at home and 10 on the road. Competing in the USL's Second Division, the Kings will face-off with the Islanders and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds four times each. They will play every other team in the Second Division twice. The Kings will wrap up the regular season August 13 on the road against Western Mass.
"We're starting the season with three tough road matches," said Kings General Manager JT Roberts. "But we anticipate big things from our team and we will be anxious to get back home and play in front of our great fans."
After starting the season at Charlotte, the Kings will travel to play the Richmond Kickers on April 22 and the Harrisburg City Islanders on April 29. Charlotte is the defending Second Division champion, Richmond, new to Second Division, was the runner-up in the First Division last year, and Harrisburg finished third in the division standings last year. Western Mass finished first in the regular season standings last year.
All of the Kings home matches will be played at Xavier University. The matches will start at 7:00 p.m. except for the matches on July 2 and July 23 which will start at 5:00 p.m.

The Kings finished their inaugural 2005 season with a 7-8-5 record, good for fifth place in the Second Division. This off-season, the team was recognized as the Rookie Franchise of the Year by the United Soccer Leagues.
