
Christine Sinclair Named to Canada Women's National Team Roster for 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC midfielder Christine Sinclair has been named to the Canada Women's National Team roster for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, it was announced today.
The 2023 World Cup will be Sinclair's sixth World Cup with Canada. The captain of the Canada Women's National Team, Sinclair has made 323 international appearances, tallying 190 career goals. At the 2019 World Cup, Sinclair helped Canada advance to the quarterfinal round of the tournament, tallying two goals in four matches. In her five previous World Cup appearances, Sinclair has played in 21 matches, registering 10 goals.
Playing in Group B, Canada plays its first match on the first day of the tournament against Nigeria on Thurs., July 20. The match against Nigeria kicks off at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) on FOX. Continuing group play, Canada takes on Ireland on Wed., July 26 at 5 a.m. (Pacific) on FS1. Sinclair and Canada wrap up group play against the hosts Australia on Mon., July 31; kickoff is set for 3 a.m. (Pacific) on FOX.
