
Chris Madigan hired as director, corporate communications

NEW YORK - The Arena Football League announced today the hiring of CHRIS MADIGAN as Director, Corporate Communications. Madigan will be based in the league's New York office and will report to SVP, Communications CHRIS MC CLOSKEY.
In his new role, Madigan will lead the AFL's day-to-day corporate communications efforts, including publicizing news generated by the AFL's Properties, Broadcasting and Events departments. He will also work closely with AFL teams to publicize their business news.
Madigan comes to the Arena Football League from Octagon, a sports-marketing firm based in Norwalk, CT. He spent the last four-plus years managing the public relations efforts for Octagon's Golf Division. He worked closely with the PGA TOUR's Champions Tour, Nationwide Tour and the LPGA Tour promoting the five professional golf tournaments Octagon manages. Madigan also worked with Octagon Outdoors publicizing Octagon's 14 professional bass anglers.
Prior to Octagon, Madigan worked for Walt Disney World Marketing focusing on publicizing Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
He begins his role with the Arena Football League immediately.
