CHL Unveils 20th Anniversary Logo and CHL Hall of Fame

TEMPE, AZ (August 4, 2011) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) is proud to announce that it will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary season in 2011-12 and to commemorate the two decades of play, the league introduced a special 20th Anniversary Logo for the 2011-12 campaign. All team uniforms throughout the season will feature the anniversary logo patch.

In conjunction with the special 20th Anniversary Season, the CHL also announced that is has formed the CHL Hall of Fame which will recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements of players, coaches and personnel who made significant accomplishments during their respective tenures in the league. The inaugural CHL Hall of Fame Class will be announced at the 2012 CHL All-Star Game in Prescott Valley, Arizona (hosted by the Arizona Sundogs). Hall of Fame members will be selected in five categories: Player, Coach, Executive, Owner and Official. No more than five individuals will be elected to the Hall of Fame each year with a maximum of three players. The CHL will appoint and introduce a Hall of Fame Selection Committee prior to the 2011-12 Regular Season whose role will be to identify and select candidates for the CHL Hall of Fame.

"To recognize 20 years of Central Hockey League play we are excited to present the anniversary logo," said Duane Lewis, CHL Commissioner. "In addition, there are so many people over the 20 years of CHL history who have made significant contributions to the League, their markets and the sport of hockey, and we thought it was appropriate at this time to start of our Hall of Fame."

The CHL's regular season gets underway on Friday, October 21, 2011 and concludes on Sunday, March 25, 2012.
