CHL Extends Partnership with Sher-Wood

August 22, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release


The Central Hockey League (CHL), in conjunction with Sher-Wood, announced today that the two companies have extended their partnership for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. The agreement keeps the Sherbrooke, Quebec based company as the "Official Equipment Supplier" of the CHL and the exclusive stick, pant and glove supplier to the league. The CHL and Sher-Wood originally partnered in the spring of 2004.

Sher-Wood, established in 1949, is the largest producer of wooden hockey sticks in the world, and offers one of the most diversified product lines in the industry.

"We are very excited to extend our league-wide partnership with Sher-Wood," said Duane Lewis, CHL Commissioner. "Our relationship has grown over the past several years and we know that we are continuing with a reliable partner with high quality equipment that keeps our players outfitted as well as any in professional sports. More importantly, they offer outstanding service to the league, our member teams, and our players. We look forward to growing even more with Sher-Wood into the future."

Elements of the agreement include that all CHL players will be outfitted with Sher-Wood pants, gloves and sticks. Additionally, Sher-Wood will continue to sponsor several CHL awards including the CHL Player/Goaltender of the Month and the regular season Most Valuable Player honor.
