
Chivas Guadalajara to Face FC Bayern Munich on July 31 at Red Bull Arena

HARRISON, NJ (May 15, 2014) - Club Deportivo Guadalajara, one of the most historic soccer clubs in Mexico affectionately known as Chivas, in conjunction with Soccer United Marketing (SUM), today announced it will face the champions of Europe and the German Bundesliga, FC Bayern Munich, at Red Bull Arena (the home of the New York Red Bulls) in Harrison, New Jersey on Thursday, July 31 (8 p.m. ET). This match, part of the Audi Football Summit, will be part of a tour across the United States.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public at Thursday, May 22 at 10:00 AM ET via tickets.newyorkredbulls.com. Red Bulls Plan Holders and partners will have pre-sale access to purchase tickets for the match. Information regarding the pre-sales will be communicated to these parties directly.
One of the most historic and successful clubs in Mexico, Chivas has captured 11 first division titles in and has raised two Copa México trophies. Additionally, the 108-year-old team is the only club in Mexico to exclusively field Mexican players, a concept that has made Chivas a steady contributor of players to the Mexican National Team. Standout players include former Sporting Kansas City forward Omar Bravo, Aldo DeNigris, the 2012 Olympic gold medalists Jorge Enriquez and Antonio Rodriguez, as well as the FIFA Under-17 world champions Carlos Fierro and Patricio Araujo.
FC Bayern Munich, Germany's most successful club ever recently conquered its 23rd Bundesliga title. Under the direction of Spanish great Pep Guardiola, FC Bayern Munich counts with a number of talented players including Franck Ribéry (France), Arjen Robben (Netherlands), Mario Mand=FEuki=BF (Croatia) as well as the base of the German National Team with players like Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas M-ller. FC Bayern Munich will head to Portland following the New York-area match to take on the MLS All-Stars in the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game at Providence Park on August 6.
