Edmonton Chill News Release
Stephen Sir put together his best all-around game of the season leading the Chill with 27 points including six late free-throws to hold off a hard charging Snohomish Explosion and win their fifth straight 126-118.
The Chill were hot early and built a 9 point lead at the half, led by Sir, Teon Knox, and the newly arrived Jermaine Bucknor who scored 11 in the opening half while showing off his full range of skills. For the Explosion, Jamaal Miller and Bruce Cooper were the story all night. Miller was the leading scorer for Snohomish, dropping 23 points including 11 in the third quarter when the visitors cut a 14 point deficit to just six.
The Explosion made a fourth quarter charge as well and cut the lead to three with a minute twenty to go but the Chill were able to play solid defense and rebound the defensive glass to keep Snohomish at bay. In the end, Stephen Sir made sure he had the ball for the late fouls that were coming and he calmly knocked down six straight to ice it and send the 1000+ fans home happy again.
Same two teams will go again Saturday night as the Chill look for their sixth consecutive victory after opening 0-2. Tip-off is at 7:11pm.
