Chihuahuas Earn Shutout Win

The El Paso Chihuahuas finished their five-game homestand with a 5-0 win over the Sacramento River Cats Sunday night. It was El Paso's fourth shutout win of the year.

El Paso scored early against former Chihuahua Casey Kelly, plating two runs in the second and three more in the third. Carlos Asuaje went 3-for-4 for El Paso, while Allen Craig and Shane Peterson collected two hits each. Javy Guerra hit an RBI single in the second inning, extending his hitting streak to six games, matching a season high.

El Paso starter Dillon Overton pitched seven shutout innings, throwing only 85 pitches in the process. Overton retired 18 batters in a row at one point. Sunday's game was preceded by a 28-minute delay, the first rain delay in El Paso this year.

The Chihuahuas do not play on Monday.
