Chicago Sky Releases Angela Jackson And Carrie Moore

CHICAGO - The Chicago Sky released Angela Jackson and Carrie Moore today.

Jackson, a 5'9 guard from Miami University (Ohio), played in three Sky pre-season games, scoring 4.3 points and 1.0 rebound per game. She was named First-Team All-MAC twice, 2008 MAC All-Tournament, and 2008 MAC Tournament MVP, setting 12 Miami records in 2008. Jackson was only the second player in MAC history to surpass 1,900 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 300 steals.

Moore, a 5'9" guard, started in two of three Sky pre-season games, averaging 1.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. She was signed by the Phoenix Mercury to a training camp contract after the 2007 WNBA Pre-Draft Camp and played in two pre-season games, averaging 8.5 points and 2.0 assists per game. Moore spent the 2007-08 off-season playing in Poland, where she averaged 10.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

Sky training camp is underway at ATTACK Athletics, located at 2641 W. Harrison Street. The team's 2008 Media Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 10-12, when all returning Sky veterans are expected to be back in Chicago from their respective international teams.

The Sky is one of seven independently-owned teams in the WNBA, the world's longest-running women's professional sports league. The Sky celebrated its inaugural season in 2006, and finished a successful sophomore season with a 14-20 record and guard Armintie Price named WNBA Rookie of the Year. The team selected 6'6" LSU star Sylvia Fowles with the number two pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft. The Sky opens the 2008 WNBA season on the road in Seattle against the Storm on May 17 with their season home opener on May 22 against the Sacramento Monarchs.
