CHICAGO HOSTS NEW ENGLAND FOR GAME TWO

The Chicago Fire host New England this Thursday, Nov. 6, at TOYOTA PARK in the second leg of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series. Last week, the Fire and New England played to a 0-0 tie in Foxborough, Mass. Thursday's game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes with coverage of the match beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now through all Ticketmaster outlets, including ticketmaster.com, at the TOYOTA PARK box office, by calling 888-MLS-FIRE, or visiting www.chicago-fire.com.

With the tie last week, the Fire now have a record of 5-6-1 against the Revs in playoff games however, Chicago still leads in goal scoring 16-14. The Revolution have defeated Chicago four times in the playoffs and in each of the last three seasons, New England has topped the Fire to advance to MLS Cup. With a draw in New England last week, the Fire earned a point in a playoff game at New England for the first time in seven games.

FOUR FIRE PLAYERS NAMED FINALISTS FOR 2008 MLS AWARDS

Chicago Fire players Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Jon Busch, Chris Rolfe and Bakary Soumare are finalists for Major League Soccer's season-ending awards. Blanco is a finalist for the Volkswagen MLS Most Valuable Player, Busch for Panasonic Goalkeeper of the Year and MLS Comeback Player of the Year, Rolfe for the Fair Play Award and Soumare for Visa Defender of the Year. There are three finalists in each award category. Winners for each award will be announced in the coming weeks, beginning with the Panasonic Goalkeeper of the Year and Fair Play winners on Tuesday, Nov. 4. The Volkswagen MLS Most Valuable Player announcement will air live on ESPNews on Thursday, Nov. 20 while on Saturday, Nov. 22 with the unveiling of Major League Soccer's Best XI and the Comeback Player of the Year at the MLS Awards Gala in Los Angeles on the eve of MLS Cup 2008.

FIRE "KICK TO WIN" DOWNTOWN MONDAY

The Fire will be running a "Kick to Win" promotion in downtown Chicago at the corner of Michigan Ave and Lake Street from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday. The Fire will have their large inflatable soccer goal set up with targets on the netting that indicate different prizes. Passersby will have the opportunity to shoot at the goal to win prizes including Fire jerseys, tickets, and discounted ticket coupons. Sparky, the Fire's mascot, will be on hand to take pictures with fans and sign autographs.

FIRE ACADEMY RESUMES TUESDAY

The Chicago Fire Academy will resume training this Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the TOYOTA PARK practice facility (6:30 p.m.). The Academy will be training on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays in advance of their first competitions on Nov. 15 and 16 against the Derby County Wolves and Vardar.
