CHICAGO, IL (June 8, 2009) - The Chicago Fire is participating in a series of community events across the Chicagoland area over the next week. Throughout the year, the Chicago Fire participates in hundreds of community events to work with youth, charities and other organizations to promote the game of soccer by advocating wellness, healthy lifestyle choices, physical activities and education.

What: Little City Used Book Sale
When: Saturday, June 13, 2009
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: Old Orchard Mall, Skokie
Who: The Little City Foundation Used Book Sale, the largest event of its kind in Illinois, will take place on June 13th and Sparky, the Chicago Fire mascot, will be there to lend a paw. Donations to the used book sale will benefit the Little City Foundation, which is committed to helping the lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What: AYSO 717 Lockport Final Games
When: Saturday, June 13, 2009
Where: Brent Hassert Park
19433 Renwick Road, Crest Hill
Who: Sparky will be cheering on the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) 717 team in their final games of the season.
