BRIDGEVIEW, ILL. (October 6, 2008) - The Chicago Fire players and staff will be making appearances around the Chicagoland area this week. Fire forward Brian McBride will be hosting a clinic for his hometown clubs, the Arlington Aces and Buffalo Grove United, while defenders Diego Gutierrez and Bakary Soumare will help raise awareness and money for Nothing But Nets, while attending the Octoberfest Classic in Libertyville, Ill. CHICAGO FIRE COMMUNITY SOCCER CLINIC HOSTED BY BRIAN MCBRIDE
Brian McBride has returned to his hometown of Arlington Heights and will host a Chicago Fire Community Soccer Clinic tonight, Monday, Oct. 6 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Willow Stream Park in Buffalo Grove with the Arlington Aces and Grove United soccer clubs. Participants will enjoy a 90 minute soccer clinic coached by professional coaches from the Chicago Fire followed by a Q&A and autograph session with McBride, Dasan Robinson, and Mike Banner.
ROLFE AND PRIDEAUX TO ATTEND BEST BUY KIMBALL GRAND OPENING
Fire forward Chris Rolfe and defender Brandon Prideaux will be on hand to sign autographs at the Grand Opening of Best Buy Kimball (3262 West Belmont, Chicago) on Wednesday, Oct. 8th from 6-7:30 p.m. Fans should stop by and bring their favorite Fire gear to be signed at Best Buy's newest location.
GUTIERREZ AND SOUMARE TO ATTEND OCTOBERFEST CLASSIC ON SATURDAY
The Chicago Fire, including the Fire Express will be spending the day at the Octoberfest Classic in Libertyville, Ill. on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Fire defenders Diego Gutierrez and Bakary Soumare will be in attendance from 2-4 p.m. to sign autographs for fans and support malaria awareness. The Fire will also hold a raffle at the Classic to raise money for the Nothing But Nets campaign, and help to fight malaria in Africa. Raffle prizes include: an autographed Chicago Fire Soccer Ball, autographed Chicago Fire Jersey and exciting items from Best Buy. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Nothing But Nets campaign. Raffle tickets are $5 and will be sold from 11 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. with the drawing at 7:30 pm.
Discounted Chicago Fire tickets will be sold and for every ticket purchased at the tournament, fans will receive a free raffle ticket and the Chicago Fire will donate $2 to Nothing But Nets.
KIDS CLUB POSTGAME AUTOGRAPH SESSION
On Sunday, Oct. 12, following the Fire's match up against the Columbus Crew, members of the Chicago Fire Kids Club will be treated to a special post game autograph session on the TOYOTA PARK stage. Five members of the Fire squad will be on hand to meet Kids Club members and sign autographs. The exclusive autograph session will be reserved for Kids Club members who have redeemed all three items this season. One chaperone per family will be permitted in the autograph area. FIRE TO PARTICIPATE IN 2008 COLUMBUS DAY PARADE ON OCT. 13
The Chicago Fire Firetruck and mascot Sparky will take part in the 2008 Columbus Day Parade on Monday, Oct. 13. The parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m. in downtown Chicago and runs along Columbus from Balbo to Monroe. For more information, visit www.jccia.com.
