THREE-GAME HOMESTAND CONCLUDES VS. NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION

In their final leg of the three-game homestand, Chicago Fire FC hosts longtime rival New England Revolution on Saturday night at Soldier Field. Coming off a 0-0 draw against Atlanta, Chicago searches for their third victory at home this season against the Revs. The Fire hold an all-time record of 27-24-21 against the New England Revolution, with Saturday marking the 73rd all-time contest between two of the most historic clubs in Major League Soccer.

Earlier this season, Chicago travelled to Foxborough and took on New England in a rainy contest that concluded in a 1-1 draw on March 23. Forward Hugo Cuypers scored the lone goal in the contest for Chicago, finishing an assist from midfielder Fabian Herbers. In that same contest, Herbers donned the captain's armband for the first time in his Fire career, and midfielder Gastón Giménez appeared in his 100th career MLS match, becoming the first Argentine in Club history to reach the mark.

Saturday's match is Star Wars Night at Soldier Field, with plenty of fun themes and activations at Gate 0. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will also receive an exclusive Star Wars themed flag. Tickets for Saturday's contest are available for purchase here.

Kickoff for Saturday's match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and will also be transmitted locally on wlsam.com (English) and WRTO 1200 AM (Spanish).

by the numbers

5 - Goalkeeper Chris Brady had himself a strong performance against Atlanta United FC. His five saves tied his second-best output for 2024, tying his performance against the New York Red Bulls two matchdays earlier. His season-high is eight saves against the Columbus Crew on March 9 at Lower.com Field.

6 - Chicago Fire FC and the New England Revolution are no strangers to one another. While the Fire hold the advantage all-time, the two Clubs have yet to pick up more than a point in almost three seasons. Dating back to Oct. 16, 2021, both clubs have recorded draws against each other in their last six contests. The Fire hope to end that streak with their 28th all-time victory against the Massachusetts-based side.

97 - With his 97th MLS appearance, midfielder Brian Gutiérrez is just three games away from becoming the second Homegrown in Club history to reach 100 matches played. Gutiérrez would join current teammate Mauricio Pineda as the only Fire players to reach the mark since the introduction of the Homegrown rule in 2008. If Gutiérrez appears in three more games before his birthday on June 17, he'll be just the ninth player in MLS history to reach 100 career games played before the age of 22.
