ANNAPOLIS, MD - In a trade with the Denver Outlaws, the Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) have acquired face-off specialist Stephen Robarge and defenseman James Connelly. In exchange, Denver received midfielder Cam Holding and seventh round 2015 collegiate draft pick. Through a separate deal, Chesapeake acquired defenseman Jason Noble after sending a third round 2015 collegiate draft pick to the Florida Launch.

Robarge has won a career 47-of-98 (.480) face-offs throughout his three years in the MLL. He dominated in the NCAA while in college at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) and won 67% of face-offs in his senior year to lead the nation. He also received the Cascade Rookie of the Week honor in his debut game with the MLL. He was drafted by Denver in the 6th round (44th overall) in the 2012 MLL Collegiate Draft.

"Robarge was the second face-off guy from Denver and has taken 100 face-off's in the league against some of the top guys in the league," said Chesapeake's Head Coach Dave Cottle. "He has been very productive and we look forward to seeing that continue this season with the Bayhawks."

"It's an honor to be with this team who has had so much success in the past and to be playing for Coach Cottle, a legend in this sport, alongside the best players in the world," said Robarge. "I want to do whatever I can to help this team. I am going to try my best to succeed in getting possessions so we can score some points and hopefully get some wins."

Connelly, a defenseman from the University of Delaware, was selected in the 6th round by the Denver Outlaws this year. During his time as a Blue Hen, he played 27 career games where he recorded two assists, 34 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers. He has been on the collegiate inactive roster for Denver so far this season.

"Connelly was one of the best cover defenseman in the Colonial Athletic Association and is a guy who will have a chance to come in and compete for the close defensive position," said Cottle.

"I'm very excited to be joining the Bayhawks. Friends and former teammates of mine have played for Coach Cottle and I have heard nothing but great things about the organization," said Connelly. "I am anxious to start practicing with the team and hopefully see some playing time."

Noble, a Cornell University grad, was chosen 10th overall by the Hamilton Nationals in 2013 and came on with the Florida Launch this year in its inaugural season. When asked about joining the Bayhawks, Noble stated, "I am excited about playing for such a great organization and I look forward to meeting all of the players on the team."

Chesapeake (1-4) will travel to Rochester for their third road game of the year this Thursday, June 5th. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network and ESPN3.

The Bayhawks return home on June 14th to battle the Boston Cannons at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium at 7:30pm.
