Chesapeake Tide News Release
(Upper Marlboro, Maryland) - The Chesapeake Tide, the newest professional indoor football team to the Mid-Atlantic area, is partnering with the Prince George's County Chamber of Commerce and the Prince George's County Public School system to participate in the fourth annual Principal for a Day program on Thursday, January 18, 2007.
This program has been bringing working professionals and community leaders in for a first-hand experience of Prince George's public elementary, middle and high schools, for the last four years. Each participant will shadow a principal from a local public school for an entire day, experiencing first-hand exactly what principals are faced with daily.
The Chesapeake Tide will be represented in three schools around Prince George's county, two players signed to the Tide's spring training camp as well as a member of the front office staff. Ajai Jones, a former Terrapin football player and Prince George's county resident, will be shadowing Principal Bloyce at Morningside Elementary. Isaac Warren, a Waldorf resident and Florida State A&M graduate will be shadowing Principal Alexander at John Eager Howard Elementary. The third representative for the Chesapeake Tide will be Jessica Frost, an Annapolis native and recent University of Maryland graduate. Frost will be shadowing Principal Campbell at Whitehall Elementary.
The Chesapeake Tide is very excited to work with the Prince George's County Chamber of Commerce as well as the public school system and only hope that through the experience will better understand the needs of the schools and how exactly they can help in the future.
