ANNAPOLIS, MD - The Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced today that they have partnered with Righttime Medical Care for the 2012 season. HeadFirst Sports Injury and Concussion Care will be the focus of the partnership and Righttime Medical will be the "Official Urgent Care of the Chesapeake Bayhawks."

The partnership between the Bayhawks and Righttime Medical Care began this year as Righttime recognized the need to provide medical care and education for local student-athletes and their families. Concussions have been a growing issue in sports and the lack of education on the matter was a mutual concern.

"Since we've seen skyrocketing numbers of young people in team sports, and increasing number sustaining head injuries, we felt partnering with the Chesapeake Bayhawks was a natural fit," said Robert G. Graw, Jr., M.D., CEO and Chief Pediatrician of Righttime Medical Care and Medical Director of HeadFirst. "Our hometown Major League Lacrosse team is tremendously popular with local student-athletes."

As part of the sponsorship, Righttime Medical Care will host the "Righttime Replay," which will feature game replays on the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium's jumbotron screen. Additionally, HeadFirst will provide public service announcements about the importance of brain injury protection and sponsor an area in the Kid's Zone that promotes concussion awareness to families.

"As professional athletes, our players take some serious hits out on the field," owner Brendan Kelly stated. "Preventing concussions is a big concern of ours and Righttime and HeadFirst are tackling the issue with our fans, the local kids. We are excited about our partnership and we are excited about what Righttime and HeadFirst are doing to educate the kids about concussions."

Righttime Medical Care's mobile Care Center, a 45-foot bus, will attend each Bayhawks home game, delivering prizes and information to fans.

"The Bayhawks are a vibrant, active organization and we are delighted to support the team in a way that also helps families in the community," added Dr. Graw.

The Bayhawks return home on Saturday, June 9th to battle the Charlotte Hounds on Youth Day. Severn Savings will be giving away fiddlesticks at the gates. Tickets can be purchased online at www.thebayhawks.com or over the phone by calling the box office 866-99-HAWKS (42957). Reserve your seat today and see the Bayhawks battle at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium this summer.
