Chesapeake BayHawks Midfielder Ben Hunt Announces Retirement from MLL

Annapolis, MD - Veteran midfielder Ben Hunt announced Thursday that he is retiring from Major League Lacrosse (MLL) play. Hunt spent all seven of his MLL seasons with the Chesapeake Bayhawks after being drafted in the 2009 MLL Collegiate Draft.
"Ben has been a huge part of this franchise and a big reason this team won 3 MLL championships during his career. We will miss his ability on the field and in the locker room. We wish him the best of luck in his career after lacrosse," stated Bayhawks' Head Coach, Brian Reese.
Through his seven years with the team, Hunt appeared in 64 games, scored 99 goals, and made 22 assists with a total of 133 points. "Ben Hunt has been a great asset to the Bayhawks throughout his career and has been a tremendous contributor to our success, " recalls Bayhawks General Manager, David Cottle. "We wish him the best of luck professionally and personally in the future."
Collegiately, Hunt played lacrosse at the University of North Carolina, where he recorded 65 goals and 31 assists, totaling 96 points. He also logged 92 ground balls, and was named NCAA player of the week, 1st Team All-ACC, 3rd Team USILA All-American, All-NCAA Tournament, and the Turnbull Trophy winner as the team's Most Valuable Player.
