
Chastain takes to fashion runway to benefit breast cancer cure

SACRAMENTO, CA â The Sacramento Capitals today announced World Cup and San Jose CyberRays soccer star Brandi Chastain and Sacramento Kings center Vlade Divac will model in the inaugural "Runway to the Court" sportswear show featuring Andre Agassi. A benefit for Cure Breast Cancer, the event will be next week, Thursday, July 24, from 5:00 â 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available now by calling 916-638-4001 x117.
Presented by Kaiser Permanente and held prior to the Capitals match at Sunrise Mall in Sunrise MarketPlace, "Runway to the Court" also includes a catered dinner by Wine Spectator Award Winning Enotria Café and Wine Bar. A live auction with unique sports packages, such as a spot in the Hoop Dream Weekend Hosted by Vlade Divac, as well as a ticket to the Capitals match with Agassi following the show, are both included in the $125 price. Corporate tables of 10 are also available.
Models for the show include the entire Caps team, including the number two doubles team in the world, Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor, as well as local media personalities. Runway to the Court will highlight various sportswear styles including golf, tennis, surf, skate, and snow, basketball, and yoga and fashions from DADA, Nike, and Polo Ralph Lauren.
Cure Breast Cancer, Inc. was launched in 1998 by Dr. Bodai after he spearheaded the creation of the official breast cancer stamp. The stamp has earned over $35 million for breast cancer research and is available until December, 2003.
