
Charlotte's Hairston Named USL Player of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. - Charlotte Independence defender Marlon Hairston has been voted the USL Player of the Week for the eighth week of the 2015 season after he recorded a goal and an assist to lead his side to a 3-0 victory against the Richmond Kickers on Friday.
Hairston earned 65 percent of the vote, which was conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL market. Sacramento Republic FC midfielder Rodrigo Lopez finished second with 18 percent.

GK - Alec Kann, Saint Louis FC: Recorded a six-save shutout as Saint Louis earned its first home victory in club history against Wilmington
D - Marlon Hairston, Charlotte Independence: Constant threat down the right, set up Charlotte's opening goal, capped the win with a fine finish
D - Sam Fink, Saint Louis FC: Powerful header with eight minutes to go earned STL FC victory against Wilmington
D - Nemanja Vukovi?, Sacramento Republic FC: Scored the opening goal and helped limit Seattle's attack admirably in a 3-0 win for Republic FC
D - Shawn Ferguson, Charleston Battery: Helped the Battery remain undefeated with a composed display as Pittsburgh managed only one shot on goal
M - Rodrigo Lopez, Sacramento Republic FC: Had a goal and an assist to lead Sacramento past S2, and back to the top of the Western Conference standings
M - Zach Prince, Charleston Battery: Excellent opening finish in Charleston's 3-1 win against Pittsburgh, his third consecutive game with a goal
M - Enric Valles, Harrisburg City Islanders: Helped Harrisburg control the flow in midfield, and played a part in both goals in a 2-1 win against New York
F - Steevan dos Santos, Rochester Rhinos: Scored the stoppage-time winner as Rochester remained on top of the Eastern Conference standings by defeating TFC II
F - Kris Tyrpak, Austin Aztex: Had the opening goal and worked strongly to help the Aztex rally for a dramatic 3-2 win against Real Monarchs SLC
F - Ryan Finley, Charlotte Independence: Excellent finish to open the scoring, and also added an assist as Charlotte took an impressive 3-0 win against Richmond
