Charlotte Sting To Host Patriot Night On Saturday, September 11

The Charlotte Sting will host a special Patriot Night on Saturday, September 11 as they face the Minnesota Lynx at 6:00 p.m.

The first 2,500 fans will receive Sting car flags courtesy of Wachovia. In addition, 2,500 American flags will be handed out.

Prior to tip-off, fans are invited to visit the Streetmosphere Interactive Area located just outside the Coliseum. The Streetmosphere Interactive Area will feature displays and interactive activities presented by the local fire and police departments as well as the Air Force and Marines. Included in the displays will be a fire truck with a 30-foot American flag, a bomb squad truck, a swat truck, an Air Force Yukon vehicle and an Air Force jet engine.

Inside the Coliseum, the Air Force will conduct a swearing in ceremony for 20 cadets on the court prior to the game. In addition, the Marines will be on hand to create a sword tunnel for the players to use as they enter the court.

Half-time will feature the six-time national champion Spring Valley High School Drill Team while the national anthem will be performed by the Singing Men of America.

The Charlotte Sting are currently in a three-way tie for first place in the Eastern Conference with a 15-15 record. After hosting the Lynx on Saturday, September 11, the Sting will face the Connecticut Sun in their final home game of the 2004 regular season on Wednesday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for all Sting games can be purchased by calling 704-424-WNBA, online at ticketmaster.com, or at the Charlotte Coliseum box office.
