
Charlotte Sting to Host Eighth Annual Breast Health Awareness Night

The Charlotte Sting will host their eighth annual Breast Health Awareness Night on Saturday, June 26 as they take on the Indiana Fever at the Charlotte Coliseum. The game will be presented by Presbyterian Hospital with tip-off slated for 6 p.m. All fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of the cause and a portion of ticket proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation - Charlotte Affiliate.
As part of Breast Health Awareness Night, the first 2,500 fans through the doors will receive a pink and white mini basketball courtesy of Presbyterian Hospital. Commemorative pink ribbons will be distributed to all those in attendance and Mobile Health Outreach will offer free mammograms at the Coliseum from 1â 8 p.m. In addition, breast cancer survivors will participate in the pre-game ball exchange and various promotions throughout the game. Halftime will feature a special check presentation to the Komen Foundation as well as entertainment from Rockin' Ray and the Amazing Skyy Dogs.
The WNBA's Breast Health Awareness Program works to generate awareness and educate women on what can be done to fight breast cancer in addition to raising funds for the initiative. The WNBA and its teams have raised nearly $2,000,000 to aid in the fight against breast cancer.
