Charlotte Sting News Release
Charlotte Sting players will visit the Sting Reading and Learning Center at McCrorey YMCA to conduct a Read To Achieve Reading Time-Out. They will share some of their favorite stories and discuss the importance of reading with the kids in attendance.
The appearance will mark the one-year anniversary of the Sting Reading and Learning Center at McCrorey YMCA, which provides a place for kids to read and work on homework. Sting players, coaches and members of the Charlotte community participated in a grand opening ceremony on August 19, 2003.
Read To Achieve is a year-round community initiative supported by all WNBA, NBA and NBDL teams. It promotes reading and online literacy and encourages families and adults to read with young children regularly.
