Charlotte Sting News Release

The Charlotte Sting announced today that they have re-signed 6'3 forward Teana Miller. Per team policy, further terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Formerly Teana McKiver before getting married last August, Miller averaged 3.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 31 games during her rookie campaign with the Sting. She also ranked 19th among WNBA leaders with 0.77 blocks per contest in 2003. Miller sat out the first part of this season after giving birth to a baby girl, Trinity, on April 20, 2004.

A native of Beulaville, North Carolina, Miller averaged 12.5 points per game and shot 58.8% from the floor over her three-year career at Tulane. She earned All-Conference USA Second Team honors in both 2002 and 2003 and was named as the Conference USA Sixth Woman of the Year after averaging 16.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game as a junior. Miller sat out the 1999-2000 season after transferring from East Carolina.

The Charlotte Sting are currently tied for second place in the Eastern Conference with a 12-13 record. While the WNBA is on hiatus from games this month due to the Olympics, the Sting will practice each day at the Bobcats Basketball Center and participate in numerous community appearances throughout August. Games will resume on September 1 as Charlotte hosts the Connecticut Sun at 7 p.m. at the Charlotte Coliseum. Please call (704) 424-WNBA or log on to www.charlottesting.com for ticket information.
