
Charlotte Sting sign guard Tasha Butts

The Charlotte Sting announced today they have signed guard Tasha Butts for the remainder of the season.
Butts, a 5-11 guard, participated in training camp with the Sting and averaged 3.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 17.8 minutes in four preseason games. Originally selected by Minnesota in the second round (20th overall) of the 2004 WNBA Draft, she averaged 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in her rookie season.
A native of Milledgeville, Georgia, Butts averaged 6.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists and helped the University of Tennessee advance to three Final Fours during her four-year college career.
The Sting open a three-game road trip tonight in Connecticut as they face the Sun at 7:00 p.m.
