Charlotte Sting Re-Launch Official Team Website
May 17, 2004 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)
Charlotte Sting News Release
The Charlotte Sting announced today that the team's official website - www.charlottesting.com â has been re-launched. The website fully incorporates the new look and feel of the Sting, who introduced an edgy advertising campaign and adopted a new color scheme of orange and blue earlier this year.
The website features the most up-to-date information on the team as well as easier navigation and comprehensive news on players, coaches and events. Visually, www.charlottesting.com was created in the likeness of the Sting's 2004 advertising campaign and tagline, Let's Play.
Wray Ward Laseter created the campaign, which also includes billboards, print ads, radio spots and ticket brochures. The local ad agency was fully involved in re-designing and creating the new website in conjunction with WNBA and Sting personnel.
The Sting's updated identity matches that of their NBA counterparts, the Charlotte Bobcats, who will also wear orange and blue this fall. New uniforms complete the look, and the Sting will be the first team to wear orange road jerseys in the eight-year history of the WNBA.
The Charlotte Sting begin the 2004 season this Friday, May 21 vs. the Houston Comets. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Charlotte Coliseum. For more information, visit the Sting online at www.charlottesting.com or call the Sting PR Department.
