KNOXVILLE,Tenn. - The Professional Indoor FootballLeague has announced the addition of the Charlotte Speedfranchise making them the eighth and final member of the PIFL as the Alabama Hammers look forward to the2013 season.
Based in Charlotte, NC,the expansion Speed will be led by two former NFL veterans in General ManagerMo Collins and Head Coach Brentson Buckner with the Bojangles' Coliseum servingas their home venue.
Charlotte marks thesecond addition of the offseason for the PIFL as just last month the LehighValley Steelhawks were added as the seventh member.
The PIFL now consistsof teams in Richmond, VA, Knoxville, TN, Columbus, GA, Albany, GA, Huntsville,AL, Lake Charles, LA, Lehigh Valley, PA, and Charlotte, NC. The league holds a 12-game regularseason schedule that runs March through June. The PIFL's playoffs begin in lateJune culminating with the PIFL Championship Cup.
With the addition of the eighthand final member, league being to put the final touches on the 2013 footballschedule with a release coming in the next month.
Hammers season tickets now on sale:Season tickets are now available by calling the Hammers office at 256-551-2222 or visiting alabamahammers.com. Season tickets start at just $52 for the six-game season.
Hammers Fundraising Program: The inaugural Hammers Fundraising Program is currently under way with the main goal of helping clubs, groups and organizations reach their fund raising goals. The program utilizes vouchers that can be redeemed for single-game tickets, merchandise and credit towards Hammers football camps/training sessions.
